Cleanse Your Liver with this Simple Juice


Without a strong and functioning liver, good health is simply not possible. This is because the liver is so incredibly important for so many things, including detoxifying the body and removing pathogens and other unwanted substances before they can do damage. However, the liver gets exposed to a variety of pollutants, toxins, heavy metals and pesticide residues  just to name a few!  and it is important to take time out to help cleanse and rejuvenate it.

There are many ways you can help support liver health. Hydrating and drinking lots of filtered water can help you detoxify naturally and so can eating a balanced diet with an emphasis on foods like cruciferous vegetables (like broccoli or cabbage) and legumes (like peas or different kinds of beans). Liver Cleanse Recipe


  • 500ml of cool, pre-boiled water
  • 6 fresh lemons
  • 1-inch section of ginger root
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 4 mint leaves
  • 3 tablespoons of flax seed oil
  • 3 grapefruits
  • A dash of cumin


First, in a juicer, squeeze the juice from the lemons and the grapefruit and set aside. Next, peel ginger and garlic and chop them into small pieces. Place them in a bowl and pour the water over them. Let them stand in the water for around 15 minutes. Next, pour the lemon/grapefruit juice mix into the blender and add mint, flaxseed and dash of cumin. Then add the water with the ginger and garlic still in it. Process all ingredients in blender until smooth, pour into a glass and enjoy!

How Does This Work?

This juice works to help detoxify your live and keep it healthy and functional in many different ways. First, the grapefruit and lemons both are rich sources of Vitamin C, a powerful antioxidant and immune system strengthener which goes a long way to protecting liver health. The garlic and ginger are also full of powerful antioxidant compounds which function in much the same way as the vitamin C. Flax seed oil is high in Omega-3 fatty acids, which promote many healthy body functions, one of which is to heal and support the detoxifying powers of the liver. Even the water is good, since it helps to add to your hydration status throughout the day and remains one of the most detoxifying drinks there is.
