Two Tonics That Help Destroy Colds and the Flu

With the cold and flu season underway, many people are struggling with their decision on how to prevent and fight these infections. With the flu shot and prescribed antibiotics losing their appeal, this decision can be made much easier once one finds a natural cold and flu remedy that really works and can be stored in the cupboard for daily use and “emergency” situations.

Antibiotic Tonic

The antibiotic tonic is a powerful combination of synergistic foods and herbs that possess not only antibacterial qualities, but antiviral, anti-parasitic, and anti-fungal as well. These qualities along with a nice blend of enzymes, probiotics, and vitamin C, makes it a very powerful natural remedy to help destroy cold and flu infections.

A special warning: This tonic is not created for taste, but it is created to work!

Ingredients (choose organic for more potency)

  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1/2 small onion
  • 1 piece of turmeric (1 inch or 1/4 tsp ground)
  • 1 piece of ginger (1/2 inch or 1/4 tsp ground)
  • 1 lemon
  • 1/2 small hot pepper or dash of cayenne pepper
  • 1 oz of apple cider vinegar
  • 1 piece of horseradish (1/2 inch)

Directions

  • Peel garlic and lemon
  • Feed garlic, onion, turmeric, ginger, lemon, horseradish, and hot pepper (if not using ground cayenne pepper) through juicer one by one (you can also blend, and strain)
  • Add cayenne (if not using hot pepper, or if you can handle more heat) and apple cider vinegar.
  • Put mixture in air tight glass bottle, and place in your natural pharmacy cupboard.

Total Body Tonic

As the name suggests, this tonic is a great way to tune up all the major systems during the winter season, so that your immune system is prepared to deal with any infections it may encounter.

This particular tonic will stimulate the liver, kidneys, immune system, digestion, thyroid, adrenals, and circulation.  It also delivers beneficial enzymes and probiotics to aid in efficient bowel movements, which are key to keeping the immune system humming.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz of pure cranberry juice (no sugar added)
  • 1 oz of coconut kefir
  • Juice of half a lemon and lime
  • 1/4 tsp of ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp of ground turmeric
  • 1/8 tsp of ground cayenne
  • Optional: Stevia to sweeten

Directions

  • Add liquid ingredients to small glass, then add dry ingredients. Stir until clumps are removed.

Consume once a day for preventative measures, and up to 3 times a day for infection removal.
