Man Looks Within, Heals Himself with ‘Self Talk’, and in Turn Heals a Group of Criminally Insane Patients

If you have a difficult time forgiving friends or family members after a moment of upset, or even wrestle with self-forgiveness, imagine trying to forgive dozens of criminally insane patients who have committed terrible acts like rape and murder. Even more, consider what it might feel like to actually go so far as taking responsibility for their actions, and then thanking and making declarations of love towards such individuals.

While the notion may sound bizarre, the process was successfully utilized by Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len approximately 30 years ago while working as a therapist at the Hawaii State Hospital.(1) Dr. Hew Len, also known as Dr. Stanley Hew Len and more appropriately, the Ho’oponopono Master, dared to step foot in the hospital at a time when most employees feared working alongside the dangerous criminals. Sick-days were common among staff, as were rapid successions of those deciding to quit their jobs. When Dr. Hew Len entered the picture, that all changed.

He not only healed all of the criminally insane patients to the point that they no longer needed to be shackled and sedated, but to the point that they were freed and the hospital was actually able to close.(2,3)

Healing Others without Face-to-Face Contact

How did he do it?

As he and co-author Joe Vitale explain in their book, Zero Limits: The Secret Hawaiian System for Wealth, Health, Peace, and More (Amazon affiliate link), a Hawaiian healing process called Ho’oponopono is at the core.(2) It involves a person taking 100 percent total responsibility for all life events, and as they personally engage in a mental cleansing process, other people and situations around them improve.(2)

Vitale explains the specifics in this video below, honing in on the fact that this easy process is “on the level of miraculous.”(2) He explains that Dr. Hew Len simply reviewed patient charts, then cleansed himself of all of the anger and emotions that surfaced as he read them by repeatedly saying four key phrases which in turn, cleansed and healed the criminally insane.(2) It’s a concept that goes back centuries, believing that all that’s happened in the world and in society resides within each person and as such, is something which we should have accountability for.

By saying certain phrases, Dr. Hew Len says, “I was simply healing the part of me that created them.”(3)

The Words that Can Help Change the Universe

Naturally, there were skeptics, many of whom initially thought that the story about healing the criminally insane was an urban legend. Even today, people may take issue with the fact that a few simple words have the power to bring about such incredible, positive change; clinging to negativity that’s fueled by gossipy web sites and narrow-minded conversations often impedes the ability to believe in a glass-half-full mind set.

However, Vitale urges people to “trust the process” and make the Hawaiian healing method that was so effectively used by Dr. Hew Len a daily routine.(2)

The four phrases are:

1. I love you
2. I’m sorry
3. Please forgive me
4. Thank you

They are cleansing words that not only help others come to terms with life issues past and present, but which undoes centuries worth of programming within a person so that ultimately, the entire universe can be restored to a state of joy, health and balance that transcends the ego.
