Yoga and wellness project

An idea has been growing in my mind for a long time now. Yoga has always been close to my heart and it is a significant part of my life’s journey to teach these ancient techniques. When conducting regular classes within the community started to become challenging for all sorts of reasons, I wondered if I couldn’t start teaching in a radically different way to what I am used to. Why not record some of my classes or put sessions on Mp3s or podcasts and sell them for the price of a coffee. Literally, for the price of your mocha you could have a decent pick me up downloaded onto your phone! And then I decided to write a book along side recording these sessions. The purpose of the book is to simplify why we need a regular practice and how we can inculcate the rhythm of yoga into our daily lives. In other words, yoga is a therapy, a daily spiritual practice and a daily exercise practice all rolled into one. The book is also an investigation into the therapeutic underpinnings of yoga and how it can help manage pain and chronic illness on the one hand, while doubling up as a simple way to stay well on the other hand.
So to sum it up, yoga needs to reach more people if more people can’t get to it.
Yoga can be easily handed to people on a platter in an mp3 format or a CD because, after all, there are enough and more practices such as pranayama and yoga nidra that can be given in the form or guided meditations.
This project is for you, so here’s how you can help make it a reality.
You can pledge a small amount towards a greater good – an easy way for anyone in the community to access yoga lessons or sessions that last from anywhere between 8 minutes to 30 minutes and a book to go with it.
Please see my request for funding page here: https://www.pledgeme.co.nz/projects/1626
and please pledge for the greater common good!
