One of the many things that can happen to your body when you finally stop drinking soda is that you will look younger. For that reason, many health experts recommend giving up soda from your diet is the best thing that you can do to your health and your weight.

Less Hungry

Even if you drink diet soda, it is still packed with pounds of sugar making you crave for more sweets.

The artificial sweeteners used in soda affect our ability to sense satiety.

It means that you cannot stop from taking exceedingly sweet foods. And those artificial sweeteners are said to be thousand times sweeter than sugar. So, you are more likely to search for more food to satisfy your cravings.

When you stop drinking sugary drinks, your cravings will be tamed and you will feel less hungry.

Lose More Weight

Diet drinks may be free of calories. But they still cause a rise in your insulin level because of the artificial sweeteners, which will prevent you from losing weight.

If you are trying to shed some pounds and you trade, say, Coke for a Diet Coke, you are just doing more harm than good to your body. It is said that those who consume more diet sodas are more likely to experience an increase in their waist size that those who opt for water.

Have More Energy

When you put too much sugar in your caffeine, you feel more tired so you want to drink more.

But drinking caffeinated drinks with too much sugar can cause you to be dehydrated, thereby, over-stimulating your nervous system.

The result? Fatigue and exhaustion.

If you start cutting back on sugary drinks, you will feel that you want to eat more fresh foods and opt for better choices.  You will also feel more energized as you do not have to feel the highs and lows of sugary drinks.

There are other health benefits of cutting back on sugar. But one thing is certain, eliminating soda and sugary drinks from your diet will also cause better changes to some aspect of your life and body.
