Natural News Blog.6- “Wellnessman” Says Wellness Is “Cool”

Do you know that relaxed look that “Joe Cool” (the alter ego of “Snoopy” from the “Peanuts” cartoon) always has? That’s because he just finished doing his” High Intensity Interval Training” (“HIIT”) session. He’s all dressed up, ready to go and feeling real good as well.  He got a nice shot of feel-good “endorphin” hormones surging through his body afterwards. His interval training consisted of 9 short and fast intervals with rest periods in between to catch his breath.  His whole workout lasts less than 15 minutes.  He then took a shower and donned his clothes and sunglasses, and is ready to have a good day.  He is a big follower of “Wellnessman” who endorses this type of exercise for overall health and wellness. He likes the fact that he doesn’t have to spend 60 minutes on a treadmill.  He’s got more time to socialize.

Do not underestimate the power of socialization with family, friends and pets.  This is an inherent part of the human experience and it leads to a healthier life.  Being able to spend quality time with your spouse, children, neighbors, friends and pets will lead to a better stress management reservoir when it comes to dealing with life’s stressors that come your way.  Now, if such people add to your stress, then that is another story.  It is then up to you to improve the situation or “down-shift” it to make it more tolerable.  This action can have a very powerful stress-reducing effect that is healthy and cool.

One of the things that Joe’s wife has brought to their relationship was a top priority on healthy eating.  Joe thought that he was doing well in that department but his new partner introduced a “gluten-free” and majority vegan diet which opened up an entirely new way of eating for Joe. His new healthy diet is high in organic vegetables and fruits, high in healthy fats, high in lean protein and low in white flour. Yes, this diet makes it more difficult to go to restaurants. You may have to order a number of side dishes/appetizers instead of an entrée if the menu doesn’t fit with your dietary requirements.  But it seems that more and more restaurants are offering healthier choices, as well as gluten-free options, and this makes Joe Cool very happy!  When Joe is happy, he is cool.   Be “cool” and climb aboard the “Wellness Wagon” with “Wellnessman” and “Joe Cool”.  Walk strong…with orthotics.
