Natural News Blog.10- “Wellnessman” Endorses Beans as an Appetizer

When “Wellnessman” goes flying around the world, he notices a striking difference between Europeans and Americans. Europeans overall seem to not having the obesity problem that we have here in the states. “Wellnessman” then started to do some nutritional forensics. He noticed that the French like to eat a lot of cheese and white flour French bread, and Italians ate bread and pasta with white flour as well. But both of these countries cuisines include beans as an appetizer before the main course. The French like to have beans and their salad while the Italians like to have beans in their “Pasta Fagiola” soup.

Beans are a unique food in that they are comprised of both complex carbohydrates AND protein. They also have a lot of fiber. This fiber allows the beans and the accompanying food to pass through the stomach and head to the gut to be absorbed. This leads to a lower glycemic index, a feeling of being full and most importantly, blocks the carbs eaten from turning into fat. This simple addition to your pre-meal appetizer can be a difference maker when it comes to reducing obesity.

Of course “Wellnessman” also wants you to implement daily “High-Intensity Interval Training” (“HIIT”) with orthotics into your schedule too, so you can get both diet AND exercise working together on your behalf. The concept of “High Intensity Interval Training” entails alternating between a short “fast” burst for no more than 30 seconds followed by a “slower” recovery interval of about 1 minute.  You want to do 3 sets of 30, 20 and 15 second “fast” intervals with 1 minute “slow” recovery intervals between all “fast” ones. That gives you a total of 9 “fast” and “slow” intervals and this allows your workout to be over in about 12 minutes. “Wellnessman” challenges everyone to take him up on this quick and efficient form of aerobic exercise.  This method also benefits weight-loss in that you will be burning “fat” for the next 24 hours, in what is referred to as the “after-burn”.  Remarkably, 12 minutes a day, every day, will do more for your health, including aiding weight-loss, than walking on the treadmill for 1 hour at the same speed!

Climb aboard the “Wellness Wagon” with “Wellnessman” by eating some beans as an appetizer before your meal and doing daily “High Intensity Interval Training”. You may even lose some weight as a reward! Walk Strong…with orthotics.
