Top 6 Reasons You Feel Brain Dead

It can be normal for people to feel brain dead at times. With so many things going on in our daily lives, it sometimes can be hard to keep up. Our brains are overworked and undernourished, and coffee is only a very short term answer to providing some clarity.

Unfortunately, many people are either accused or are feeling brain dead a lot of the time, and that is a sign of an improperly functioning brain due to toxicity and malnourishment. Although there are many ways this could happen, here are six of the most common reasons.

Heavy metal poisoning

One of the most noxious categories of toxins that adversely affect the brain are heavy metals such as mercury, lead, aluminum, and cadmium. If you are unsure if you have any of these types of poisoning, think about metal dental fillings, lead based paint, aluminum cookware and soda cans, cigarette smoke, and environmental pollution.

Out of all these brain burdens, the most toxic is mercury fillings. Why? Consider the proximity of those fillings in relation to your brain, the fact that mercury is lipophilic (concentrates in fatty tissues) and that your brain is mostly made of fat and water, and you’ll realize that your brain is a hot spot for toxic heavy metal accumulation.

Heavy metals can be very tricky to eliminate safely, but here are two of the safest ways to detox heavy metals.

Artificial sweetener consumption

People have started to realize the dangers of artificial sweeteners like aspartame, splenda, sucralose. Sweet N’ Low, and more. As a result, shifty marketing tactics have begun and things like aspartame are now being called AminoSweet.

Most people think diet sodas when they think of artificial sweeteners, but unfortunately it doesn’t stop there. Most sugar free products are laced with them, including but not limited to yogurt, chewing gum, cooking sauces, flavoured water, and cereals.

The problem with something like aspartame is that it is a combination of chemicals, namely aspartic acid (an amino acid with excitatory effects on brain cells), methanol, and phenylalanine, and when it breaks down it produces a compound that is a powerful brain tumour inducing chemical.

If that won’t break your brain, nothing will.

Fluoride ingestion

Have you ever drank tap water? If so, you have in all likelihood been exposed to a number of chemicals including fluoride.

The Fluoride Action Network (FAN) has reported on a study which found that fluoride is linked to lower IQ, even at the ranges added to U.S. water supplies. In all, FAN said that 34 studies now link fluoride to lower IQ levels in humans, while many other studies link fluoride to learning and memory impairment, fetal brain damage and altered neurobehavioral function.

One study sponsored by UNICEF found that IQ was reduced at just 0.88 mg/l of fluoride, a level that is considered within optimal range and is added to U.S. drinking water systems that serve over 200 million Americans every day.

Candida overgrowth

The taking of antibiotics, birth control pills, and steroids, along with a diet high in sugar, yeast-containing foods, alcohol, gluten, dairy, caffeinated beverages, vinegar, and refined carbohydrates, can adversely affect the delicate balance of intestinal flora and cause a Candida overgrowth. If you have issues with heavy metals, this further complicates the problem as it repels the good bacteria that keeps the bad bacteria under control.

Unfortunately, our “second brain” lives in the gut and the toxicity generated by a Candida overgrowth can be transferred to the brain through the brain-gut connection known as the vagus nerve. This is why many people who experience concentration difficulties, poor memory, lack of focus, brain fog, and ADD/ADHD could very well be experiencing a more severe candida overgrowth.

If you’re not sure if this is you, try this simple at home test to give you an idea if this infection has left you brain dead.

Not enough healthy fats

The low fat diet craze did very little to effectively take off weight, and it left many with a starving brain. The war on fats was a costly trend for many people, who are just now seeing the full repercussions.

According to the Centre for Healthy Aging, University of Copenhagen, and the Nationals Institute for Health, a diet high in healthy fats may actually slow the ageing process, including stemming off the brain degeneration associated with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases.

Since the brain is largely made of fat, it’s not a stretch to believe that it needs a steady, clean, and natural source of it in order to run effectively. Consider coconut oil, avocados, and grass fed beef as some great sources of healthy, brain supporting fats.

Dehydration

With experts estimating that approximately 75% of American’s being sub-clinically dehydrated, and the brain being approximately comprised of 75% water, you can already deduce that chronic dehydration is a major factor to being intellectually compromised.

In a study published in the British Journal of Nutrition, two groups of volunteers were induced into dehydration to measure their reaction times, concentration levels, and memory as compared to a well hydrated state. The test results found that male group experienced issues with memory, anxiety, and tension, and the female group experienced the same but to a greater degree than the men.

When hydrating, it is critical to consume clean pure water. For the best sources, read Guide to Drinking Water.
