These two cancers are the most common cancers in South Africa with one in every 26 men being diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime and one in 33 women being diagnosed with breast cancer. (2)

In the U.S. one in seven men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime and one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer!(3,4)

Rooibos tea contains high levels of antioxidants and interferes with male sex hormone that can cause prostate cancer

Rooibos tea contains high levels of antioxidants that help prevent cancer but research also shows that it could be useful in treating cancer. Research from Stellenbosch University found that rooibos extract interfere with the male sex hormone, dihydrotestosterone, which can cause prostate cancer.  The interference is similar to conventional drugs used to treat prostate cancer. Honeybush extract can either block or increase oestrogen, and prevent an increase in cancer growth

In other research, molecular testing showed that honeybush extract contains chemicals that can either block or increase oestrogen, which can increase growth in certain types of cancers.(2)
