Have you jumped on the green juice or smoothie bandwagon yet? If not, then now may be the time to make these health shots part of your daily routine.
Green juices or smoothies are a great way to get more greens into your diet. They help to alkalize the body, flush out toxins, improve digestion, and reduce inflammation. They add tons of health promoting nutrients to heal the body from the inside out.
While there are many possibilities and combinations, today I want to share with you one of my belly boosting and inflammation fighting recipes. So let’s take a closer look at the ingredients and what they can do for you.
Cucumbers are excellent to detox the body as they consist out of 95 percent water. They are loaded with electrolytes, antioxidants, and other beneficial plant nutrients to reduce belly bloat, inflammation and fight cancer. They are also high in vitamin A, C, K, calcium, and potassium.
Ginger is one of the best spices out there to fight all your digestive complaints, belly bloat included.
Parsley, known for its blood, kidney, and liver cleansing properties. It works as a diuretic to help the body get rid of unwanted toxins.
Cayenne pepper has strong anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties. It stimulates circulation and toxin elimination too.
Apples are a great way to help the body eliminate metals and food additives from the digestive tract.
Lemons/limes are one of the best sources of Vitamin C. They kick-start digestion and are great for your skin, too.
Ingredients (serves 2)
- 2 cucumbers
- 2-inch fresh ginger root (for strong ginger taste, use less if not a huge fan)
- 1 lime or half a lemon, peeled
- 1 cup parsley
- 2 apples, cored
- Pinch cayenne pepper
Juice parsley, ginger, lime, apples and cucumbers. Pour over ice and add a dash of cayenne pepper. If you don’t have a juicer, no worries. Add everything to a blender and add water as needed.
Make this juice/smoothie part of your healthy routine and say goodbye to toxins, belly bloat, and inflammation.
