Natural Face Mask and Toner

Switching from chemically-laden products to chemically-free ones can provide so many amazing benefits, but it can be overwhelming to figure out which natural products work (and don’t cost a fortune!). Here are two of my favorite DIY skin care routines that are both simple and effective. As an added bonus, they improve the health and appearance of your skin. Enjoy!

Routine 1 (Face Mask):

1.) Wash face with cold water.

2.) Mix raw honey with lavender essential oil and apply a thin layer to face, neck and decolletage.

3.) Leave on face for a minimum of ten minutes.

4.) Rinse face with cold water and blot dry.

The honey will moisturize your face, while at the same time, not make your skin oily. Honey is anti-bacterial and anti-fungal,along with many other amazing healing properties, and it will protect and heal the skin. The lavender oil will soothe and provide anti-aging properties.

Routine 2 (Facial Toner):
1.) Wash face gently with cold water and pat dry.
2.) Gently dry brush your face. If you don’t have a dry brush, use a wet wash cloth to gently exfoliate. I highly recommend a dry brush, however.
3. Mix a dollop of aloe vera gel with a drop or two of frankincense oil and apply to face, neck and decolletage.
4. Let dry for a couple of minutes. The aloe will go on sticky, but when it dries, your skin will feel so fresh.

The dry brushing helps drain your lymphatics and exfoliate your skin. The aloe moisturizes your skin while also providing it with needed nutrients and minimizing sun damage. The frankincense tones your skin and minimizes aging. It can also boost your immune system!
