How To Lose 10 Pounds In One Week Without Starving


Losing 10 pounds in one week is extreme, my advice to you is to spread that amount of weight loss over a month, but I know there are many out there that will try and do it anyway, so I will tell you how to do it in the safest way possible. I will tell you how to do it without starving yourself or taking some potentially dangerous weight loss pills.

First thing to note and this should be pretty obvious and applies to anyone who is concerned about their health; Avoid All Processed Food. Refined white carbohydrates, refined white sugar, MSG, deep fried food etc. Also you should consume lots of filtered water.

Green tea has zero calories and helps to speed up your metabolism as well as numerous other health benefits.

Another thing to keep in mind is that it is not going to be easy, you are going to have to burn more calories than you consume so you have to be determined. Although it is possible.

You are going to have to count calories, you will need to burn 5000 calories more than you consume, the average person burns between 1500 – 2000 calories a day via normal activities.

Here are  some extremely effective diets to consider;

Juice Fast

The first method I would recommend is doing a juice fast like the one seen in the fat sick and nearly dead documentary. The man who made the documentary lost a whopping 67 pounds in 49 days, that is just under 10 pounds a week. Although I must stress he had a doctor regularly watching his progress and keeping check on his vitals, you should too.

The juice fast involves juicing fresh fruit and vegetables (mostly vegetables) and drinking that, without consuming any food. The result was rapid weight loss as well as a drop in cholesterol levels and improvements in health in general. With this method you should only do light exercise.

Smoothie Fast

Commonly referred to as a ‘green smoothie diet’ this consists of consuming nothing but smoothies all day every day for a set period of time. It is basically what herbal life is. Doing this for one week will help you to lose weight quickly, avoid recipes that have sweeteners or dairy.

Focus on recipes that include lots of green leafy vegetables and super foods; spirulina, chia seeds, cacao powder, acai etc. Try and avoid adding too much fruit to your smoothies especially later in the day. Also, you want to avoid cacao powder later in the day as it is a stimulant. You should have energy to exercise regularly.

Raw Food Diet

Another suggestion is to go on a raw food diet, as long as you are not eating too much fruit especially dried fruit. This diet will pretty much force you to go vegan, unless you eat raw fish. Stick mainly to leafy green vegetables if you are going for weight loss and you can do some moderate exercise with this diet plan.

Include some weight lifting in your exercise regime as this will burn a lot of calories even when resting. Start your day with fruit and nuts, then stick to vegetables for the rest of the day and do not consume food 3 hours before you go to bed.

Extreme Exercise

With this method you are going to have to be careful about what you eat, you need enough calories to give you energy to work out but you do not want to consuming more than you are burning or even the same as what you are burning. Have a mixture of weight training and cardiovascular workouts. Cardio burns more calories but weight training will burn calories while resting.

When you lift weights you get micro tears in your muscles, so you are using energy to work out then after working out your body is using energy to repair damaged muscle tissue. People with more muscle mass burn more calories whilst resting.

You will need to go for low-fat protein sources such as boiled eggs, lean chicken or vegan sources such as beans, legumes and lentils. Remember excess protein will turn into fat, stay within this range 0.8-1.5 grams of protein per pound of body weight.

Do mostly compound lifts, some examples include squats, lunges, pull downs and bench press. Also go for whole foods such as brown rice, whole wheat bread etc. These are normally low in GI. And again you do not want to be consuming any food late in the evening.


These are some of the safest ways to lose weight quickly, but having said that it is much safer to lose weight gradually, it is much better for your overall health and you are less likely to put all the weight back on again.

If you do try and lose 10 pounds in a week, you do not want to do this week after week consistently.

Combining all the suggestions above and getting into a routine will improve your health and over all quality of life, weight loss diets and techniques shouldn’t be something you do when you get fat it should be part of your lifestyle to prevent you from being overweight.
