Homemade Remedy of Beetroot for Purifying the Liver

Without even realizing it, the average person is exposed to a whole array of toxins throughout the day. This can take the form of secondhand smoke, urban air pollution, or heavy metals and pesticide residues in conventionally raised foods. If someone smokes, drinking excessive alcohol or eating a great deal of processed foods, this only increases the toxic exposure. This exposure can lead over time to a weakened immune system and liver damage, just to name a few. However, there are fortunately many foods which will help to protect and cleanse the liver naturally. The recipe below takes advantage of the naturally cleansing powers of beetroot to help promote healthy liver function.

The Recipe

Supplies and Ingredients

  • 3 liter glass jar
  • 700mg of beetroot (roughly 3 medium-sized pieces)
  • 2 spoons of flour
  • 200g of sugar
  • 100g of raisins

Directions

Place the cut beetroot in the jar. Add all remaining ingredients. Fill the jar with boiled water that has been cooled at least to room temperature. Place gauze or cheesecloth over the mouth of the jar and secure with rubber band to allow mixture to aerate. All it to ferment for 6-7 days, stirring ingredients together twice a day. After the week is up, filter mixture through the gauze.

How to Use This Remedy

Once you have prepared this remedy, it needs to be kept refrigerated in an airtight jar, such as a glass jar with a screw-top lid. You should take 3 tablespoons of this 3 times a day until the mixture is gone. After that, you should weight three months and repeat the treatment, then wait three months and repeat it again. All three treatments will take around a year to complete, but at the end of that year, your liver will be completely purified.

Why this Works

This is an effective remedy for a two important reasons. First, it takes advantage of the powerful properties of beetroot to give your liver a boost. Beetroot is rich in vitamins and minerals as well as phytocompounds like anthocyanins (also found in fruits like blueberries) which have both antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. All this adds up to a vegetable which can help the liver to be more efficient at ridding the body of toxic build-up from all the sources mentioned previously – secondhand smoke or conventionally raised foods, for instance.

Secondly, because this remedy involves fermentation, it is also providing your body with good probiotic bacteria that will repopulate your gut with the flora that you need for good health. An optimal bacterial balance will help improve digestion and strengthen the immune system, making your body better at fighting off illness and infection. Both of these things help take some of the workload off the liver and allow it to be more efficient at what it does.

So give this remedy a try. It is simple and inexpensive to make, but it can bring you significant health benefits in terms of improved liver function, a strengthened immune system and better overall health.
