Why Green Smoothies Aren’t Just A Hype

image

It seems that the health conscious world is invaded by green smoothies and juices these days. I have been adding green smoothies to my daily diet for quite a while, and I must admit I’m hooked. Something as simple as adding one green smoothie to your day can have a major impact on your health and weight.

Most people make a funny face when I talk about green smoothies though. They love fruit smoothies or juices, but when I say I always add spinach, kale, bok choy or other leafy greens, they look at me like I’m from Mars… until they let me do my magic and produce them a sweet delicious and nutrient dense green monster. That’s when the surprise kicks in and before they know they are juicing and blending their own.

After all the people I see turning to green smoothies to improve their health and weight, I have a good feeling that they are here to stay.

And here are a few reasons why they aren’t just a hype or new diet fad:

Making People Eat Their Veggies And Fruits

It is recommend to eat 5-9 servings of fruit and vegetables a day to keep your body healthy. But most people hardly manage to have 3 servings. Raw leafy greens are amongst the most nutrient dense food sources on our planet. They are loaded with antioxidants, amino acids, vitamins, minerals, and other health promoting phytonutrients. Green smoothies are an excellent way to sneak them into your diet, without the need to down a whole plate of spinach or kale.

Natural Weight Loss Management

Many people, myself included, have lost pounds by adding green smoothies to their daily diet. Green smoothies provide vitamins, minerals, fiber, healthy fats, carbohydrates, and protein which your body needs to safely and quickly lose weight without the need to starve yourself.

What I also noticed after starting to add green smoothies to my diet is that your body craves less junk food and actually wants more of the healthy stuff you are feeding it through green smoothies.

“One Healthy Choice Always Leads To Another”

Improves Digestion

Blending fruits and veggies make them easy to digest and maximize nutrient absorption. Unlike fruit or veggie juices, green smoothies still contain loads of fibers which are great for your colon health and digestion.

Radiant Skin

Fibers are also great to remove toxins out of your body, which will not only improve your digestive tract health but they allow your body to remove toxins via your bowels instead of eliminating them through your skin. So drinking a green smoothie every day will give your skin a healthy glow like you’ve never seen before.

Better than Milk for Healthy and Strong Bones

Dark leafy greens such as kale, spinach, chard, and cabbage are and excellent source of calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus. One green smoothie actually contains more calcium than one serving of milk.

Diseases-fighting Antioxidants

We all have heard how important it is the get your antioxidants to fight free radicals. Those antioxidants are your best defense against diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular disease, Alzheimer’s disease, macular degeneration, and many more.

Boost Energy and Mental Clarity

Like mentioned above green smoothies provide your body with all the best building blocks and nutrients to start your day with more energy and focus.
