Essential oils are more than just about smelling good.  Essential oils have a variety of benefits depending on the oil.  You can use them for cleaning supplies and be assured they will be healthy and green friendly for you, your family and our environment.  But, having these oils in your home allow you to not only use them for cleaning products, but for other uses too.  It’s a win win all around when using essential oils at or around your home.

– Peppermint:

Peppermint is one of the oldest and most widely used oil as far as herbs go.  Its uses include soothing nausea, helping in the aid of strained muscles, helping with headaches and it also helps relieve itchiness from itchy skin among many other things.  Peppermint has a great smell which is one reason it’s a good option for cleaning supplies you make at home, but mixed with sweet orange and eucalyptus you can also use this mix as a floor cleaner for tiles and wood floors.

– Rosemary:

You might think that this herb is only good for one thing; cooking.  But, you would be wrong!  Rosemary essential oils are also incredibly energizing and have a great smell.  You can reduce muscle spasms and aches with rosemary as well as use it to help reduce water retention and cellulite.  When used with lavender oil, rosemary is also a good option for people looking for a carpet deodorizer and scented scrubber for things like sinks, bathtubs and floors.

many of the grocery store room sprays have some sort of citrus placed in them, such as lemon or sweet orange because it not only has a terrific smell that will make any room smell good, but when you mix sweet orange oils with water you can make a deodorizer for trash cans.  You can also mix sweet orange with lemon to make a floor cleaner, sweet orange with cinnamon for a deodorizer or sweet orange with vinegar for window cleaners.
