Alkaline water is water that measures anywhere above a 7.0 on the pH scale. Alkaline water is different from tap because it’s less acidic—it has a pH over seven, meaning that it has a lower concentration of hydrogen ions. Alkaline water can neutralize acid in the bloodstream, act as an antioxidant, boost metabolism, and even cure or prevent cancer, boost energy and many more.
The pH level of our saliva is lower (it’s more acidic) in order to help the digestion of food. The pH ranged from 6.5 – 7.0. But, on the other hand, the typical value of the skin is 5. According to a study, published in the International Journal of Cosmetic Science, in 2006, researchers have found that the pH value should be 4 – 4.5, in order to be more strong.
Importance of Alkalinity
As we know food can determine our overall pH levels. Dr. Otto Warburg of Germany 1931 Nobel Prize winner discovering that up to 95% of all cancers have acidic environment as the cause behind them. He also showed that cancers cannot thrive in an alkaline environment where the pH level is 7.36 or more.
He claimed almost a century ago that acidosis (excess acidity) is not only connected to development of cancer, it could also cause other diseases like osteoporosis, diabetes, heart disease and almost all other chronic diseases which we suffer from nowadays.
Alkaline water – RECIPE
1 Tbs. of Himalayan salt
1 Organic lemon
2 Liters of purified water
1 Big glass jar
First, you need to pour the water in the glass jar.
Then, cut the lemon I slices and add it inside the water.
At last, add the Himalayan salt.
Now, close the glass jar and leave it on room temperature for 12 – 24 hours.
How to use it?
If you want to get the best results from this homemade alkaline water, you need to drink it first thing in the morning, on empty stomach. You need to drink at least 3 glasses of this alkaline water every day, on empty stomach. You can also drink this alkaline water during the day.
