5 Super Berries That Cause Cancer Cells to Self-Destruct

Acai berries
Acai berry extracts can help kill leukemia cells when applied directly to them over a 24-hour period. Specifically, 86 percent of leukemia cells experienced apoptosis (“cell death”) when subjected to the extract; the researchers attributed this effect to acai berries’ high concentrations of anthocyanins, a type of flavonoid that gives the fruits their distinctive, black-purple color.

Blushwood berries
The fruit from the Blushwood tree, which has very specific growing requirements and, thus far, has only been found to thrive in Far North Queensland in the middle of the Australian Rainforest, kills cancerous cells, it kills the tumour cells directly, it cuts off the blood supply and it also activates the body’s own immune system to clean up the mess that’s left behind.

Goji berries
Cyperone is a sesquiterpene found in goji berries. This is said to benefit blood pressure patients, those with heart disease, ease menstrual discomfort and can even be used to treat patients with cervical cancer.
Germanium another nutrient found in goji berries is said to reduce the growth of tumors and has anti-cancer benefits. Goji berries are also said to reduce the risk or help in the treatment of testicular cancer, lung cancer, liver cancer and uterine cancer.

Cranberries
They’ve long been known to help fight bladder infections and cystitis, but research has suggested that cranberries can also help combat H.pylori, a bacteria associated with peptic ulcer disease and gastric cancer.

Black raspberries
Black raspberries are rich in anthocyanins. Studies have shown that this type of potent antioxidant found in berries, grapes, and red cabbage – give fruits and vegetables a blue, red, or purple color.
