These healthy water recipes are a fantastic refreshment instead of sodas or nasty-store-bought vitamin water! Drinking water has some many health benefits from hydrating your body to keeping your skin looking good.
1.Strawberry, Lemon, and Basil
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons lemon juice, fresh
1 tablespoon sugar, raw (or other)
6 basil leaves, fresh
5 strawberries, small (or 3 large strawberries, quartered reserve 1 thin slice for garnish)
1 pinch kosher salt
3⁄4 cup soda water
Instructions:
Combine fresh lemon juice, raw sugar, basil, whole strawberries, and salt in a pint glass. Muddle ingredients with a muddler or the handle of a wooden spoon until sugar dissolves. Add ice cubes and soda water and stir until chilled. Strain into a 12-oz. glass filled with ice cubes and garnish with a strawberry slice.
2.Strawberry, Lime, and Cucumber
Ingredients:
8 large strawberries
1 cucumber
2 limes
Instructions:
Slice the limes, cucumber and strawberries
Put them into a large container/pitcher of water
Cover and let sit in the fridge over night
3.Rosemary and Grapefruit
Ingredients:
1 cup chipped ice
4 slices fresh grapefruit
1 sprig fresh rosemary
1¼ cup cold water
Instructions:
Place ice in tall glass; set aside.
Combine grapefruit and rosemary in large cocktail shaker. Mash well with back of a wooden spoon or muddler.
Stir in water; cover and shake.
Strain into ice-filled glass and enjoy.
4.Blueberry and Lavender
Ingredients:
1/4 cup dried lavender
1 1/2 cups boiling water
3/4–1 cup white sugar (depending on desired sweetness)
10 lemons
1/2 cup fresh blueberries
2 Tbsp. water
Instructions:
Place lavender in a bowl, pour boiling water over it and steep for 5-10 minutes, depending on desired strength (we steep ours for about 7 minutes). Strain the lavender, stir the sugar into the lavender water, then pour into a pitcher over ice. Add freshly squeezed lemon juice into the pitcher, add cold water and stir. In a blender, puree blueberries with 2 tablespoons of water. Add puree immediately to lemonade and stir well. Adjust sweetness and lemon strength accordingly. Garnish with a few fresh blueberries on a toothpick. Makes about 8 servings.
5.Watermelon and Mint
Ingredients:
1 medium size watermelon, peeled, deseeded and chopped
1 or 2 tbsp mint leaves/pudina
black salt as required
chaat masala as required
ice cubes (optional)
Instructions:
in a blender, add the watermelon and mint leaves.
no need to add water. blend well.
pour the watermelon juice in tall glasses and sprinkle some black salt and chaat masala from top. add ice cubes if required.
garnish watermelon juice with some mint leaves
and serve watermelon mint juice.
