Prunes:

Prunes or prune juice is one of the most popular remedy for constipation. It acts as a natural laxative as it contains high amount of fiber and sorbitol. 2 – 3 glasses of prune juice

You will need…
-1 teaspoon of blackstrap molasses
-warm water or tea (optional)

Directions
Consume one teaspoon of blackstrap molasses. Start slow and small here-if you don’t like the flavor of molasses, you can add it to a cup of warm water or tea to dilute the taste. If you find that a teaspoon has not been effective, you can go as high as 1-2 tablespoons, but try less at first.

Olive Oil:

Process:

Before you go to bed, consume blackstrap molasses everyday.

You can substitute it in warm water, milk, fruit juice or other liquids.

Figs:

Figs are packed with full of fiber and acts as natural laxative which helps to prevent the constipation especially chronic constipation by taking it regularly. Here you can use both fresh or dried figs but remember that if fresh figs are available to you then eat them with their skin, as this skin contains most of the fiber and calcium which is also useful for treating the constipation.

Milk – 1 glass

Take few figs & boil it in a milk.

But be sure that this milk is still warm when you drink it.

Or you can even soak 4 -5 dried figs in water during night time & eat it in the early in the morning with empty stomach.

Baking Soda:

Baking Soda – 1 teaspoon
Warm water – 1/4 cup

Take baking soda in a bowl
Mix it well in warm water
Drink the liquid as quickly as possible

Epsom salt:

Epsom salt is an effective home remedy for constipation for two main reasons. First, the salt draws water from its surroundings, softening up stool and making it easier to pass. Second, the magnesium that is present in the salt promotes contraction of the bowel muscles, which also makes passing easier. Table salt can be useful in terms of drawing water out, but it lacks the magnesium that Epsom has, so try and use Epsom salt if possible.

You will need…
-2 teaspoons of Epsom salt (for adults) OR ½ teaspoon (for children)*
-1 cup of water or fruit juice

Directions
Dissolve 2 teaspoons of Epsom salt in one cup of water or fruit juice and drink all of it. If within 4 more hours there is no sign of bowel movement, you may take one more dose. Only use ½ teaspoon for children.

Spinach:

Spinach is having the property of cleanse, rebuild & renew the intestinal tract to regulate the bowel movement. It is recommended in both Ayurveda and Chinese herbal medicines to treat the constipation. So it is very essential to include this spinach in your daily diet. But make sure that if you have kidney problem then it’s better to consult your doctor to know whether you have to take it or not and also the quantity to cure the constipation.

Ingredients:

Spinach juice – 100 ml
Water – 100 ml

Process:

Take spinach juice & water in equal quantity.
Mix it well & drink it.
This remedy is an old method used to cure the most stubborn cases of constipation.

Aloe Vera:

Aloe vera is a known medicinal herb for its soothing property. It not only soothes the minor cuts & burns but also soothes your stomach / tummy. So to get more effective results, you have to use the gel that has been directly taken from the aloe plant which is more concentrated than commercial juices but don’t exceed 2 tablespoons a day to get easy digestion and also softens the stools to have easy bowel movement.

Ingredients:

Aloe Vera gel (from direct leaf)– 2 tablespoons
Aloe vera juice (brought outside) – 1 cup
Any fruit juice of your preference.

Process:

Take aloe vera gel & mix it with fruit juice.
Drink it early in the morning.
Or you can simply drink the aloe vera juice as needed.

Oils:

Oils like safflower, soybean & other vegetable oils can help to cure the constipation as it has lubricating action in the intestine. Oil (vegetable, safflower or soybean)
Other herbs
Lemon juice

If you don’t like to intake oil directly, you can mix it with other herbs, lemon juice or vinegar to use as salad dressing.

Oranges:

Grapes:

Or you can take raisins & soak it in water for a day or two

Castor Oil:

Castor oil – 1 teaspoon
Warm milk or warm water – 1 glass

Guava (not too ripe or raw)

Process:

Take a guava and have this with your breakfast
Make sure that if you’re suffering from the gastric problem then have this fruit after lunch and don’t eat this at night time.
Remember that while eating guava, you should not chew its seeds which cause negative impact on the people who suffers from stomach ulcers and also leads to constipation.
So first cut the fruit into quarter pieces and eat the outer portion which is seedless and close to the peel
Then have the inner portion of the fruit which has soft pulp with seeds
Never chew the seeds hard and chew them softly to make the pulp little softer

Water
