Today marked the 2017 Natural Products Expo West & Engredea, the world’s largest natural, organic and healthy products event. Over 3,000 exhibitors, latest trends from the natural and specialty foods to business solutions, beauty and ingredients.
Engredea is one of the largest nutraceutical ingredient events in the industry. Wholesale nutraceutical ingredient suppliers from around the world attend to learn about new and exciting ingredients. Engredea takes place in Anaheim, California and is part of the Natural Products Expo West trade show.
Business School and Education Sessions
Wednesday’s events were at the Anaheim Marriott; Natural Products Business School, Education Sessions and Climate Day. With 600 of the 3,000 exhibitors being first-timers, this is the show to be at if you have a natural product or dreaming of starting your own natural product company. The Natural Products Business was outstanding. All of the Keynote speakers and Experts brought a broad spectrum of knowledge to the audience who attending the sessions from 8:30am to 4:30pm.
Sheryl O’ Laughlin, CEO of REBBL did an amazing inspirational Keynote Kickoff which was a workshop format with hands on material and audience participation.
Other topics of the session encompassed, “Raising Angel Capital,” “Finding the Right Financial Partnership for your Mission-Driven Business”, “Cash is King” with many great business insights, tips and encouragement. Shari Wynne Ressler from SKU, a Consumer Products Accelerator based in Austin, spoke on the difference stages of a business and gave advice on finding capital. She started SKU with the purpose of building diversified industry in Austin, Texas by bringing together experienced entrepreneurs and investors to mentor high potential companies.
Climate Day Sessions
Climate Day, was a happening event that day as well. Expert discussions and topics from current solutions to global climate change, sustainability and tools for emerging natural product companies. Some of the expert speakers were from Rodale Institute, Cool Farm Alliance and the filmmakers of the soon to be released film, “Kiss the Ground” a ground breaking film on how Regenerative Agriculture can reverse climate change and carbon sequestration. The film brought new light to the 40-year conversation on reducing our carbon footprint by educating on mitigating climate change by switching old industrial farming practices, tiling, with regenerative organic agriculture which could sequester C02 emissions. Regenerative agriculture restores and improves the soil’s natural ability to hold carbon by planting and creating a live ecosystem on the soil that is farmed.
The Exhibit begins on Thursday, March 8th – 12th with over 3,000 exhibitors and 130 hot new products.
