14 Effective Home Remedies For Scar Removal

While scars are painless, they tend to mar our looks and make us feel self-conscious.  There are a number of creams on the market that promise to help you fade your scars, but if you don’t want to spend your hard-earned money on these products, there are a number of ways to try to get rid of your scars naturally at home.

Remedies to try:

1- Aloe: 

As you know, aloe can help a sunburn, and it can help fade a scar, too.  Simply take an aloe vera leaf and cut it in two. Squeeze out the natural gel and put it directly onto your scar.  Do this daily and watch your scar fade.

2-Tea Tree Oil:

Tea tree oil is actually very effective for removing scars.  Dilute some on a cotton ball and apply directly to your scar. Do this morning and night and you should see your scar fade in weeks.

3- Rosehip Seed Oil:

Rosehip seed oil is used commonly in cosmetics, often in scar removal creams. Simply put a few drops of rosehip seed oil on your fingers and massage it onto your scar twice a day.

4- Lemon Juice:

Take a fresh lemon and cut it into half. Rub the juicy part of the lemon right onto your scar. Lemon works as a natural bleach and will work to remove both blemishes and scars.

5- Coconut Oil:

Coconut oil works best for new scars. When you get a new scar, immediately apply coconut oil, as it can fade the scar quickly, making it invisible.

6- Sandalwood Powder:

Sandalwood powder works for scars of the face.  Simply take a bit of sandalwood powder and mix it with rosewater or milk. You will then rub it on your scars, gently, and then leave on for an hour.  Rinse off with cold water.  You can do this several times a week for quick results.

7- Almonds:

Depending upon the size of your scar, take just two to three almonds and soak them overnight in water (for larger scars, you may need four or five almonds). In the morning, peel the skin from the almonds and then mash what is left.  Apply this almond mixture directly to your scars.

8- Potato: 

Cut a raw potato into slices. Rub a slice directly onto your scar.  Or, you can squeeze the juice from the raw potato slices and put that juice onto your scar.

9- Lavender Oil: 

Lavender oil smells great and works well on scars!  Simply put a few drops directly onto the scar a few times a day.

10- Olive Oil:

Olive oil is a very effective scar removal treatment.  Apply a few drops of olive oil to your scars on a daily basis. It also works to moisturize your skin.

11- Vitamin E Cream: 

Vitamin E cream is not a new treatment for scars, it has been around for years, but it works.  Simply use this daily to fade scars.  It works in just weeks.

12- Cocoa Butter:

Cocoa butter is another treatment that everyone knows about because it works!  Cocoa butter not only helps scars fade away, it also moisturizes your skin.  Apply daily to see it work quickly.

13- Salicylic Acid:

Typically known for helping with acne, salicylic acid is actually great for helping to heal scars, too.  Salicylic acid will work for even severe scars.  Try using every other day, as it can dry the skin.

14- Apple Cider Vinegar:

Apple cider vinegar seems to help with everything—even scars!  Simply put some on a cotton ball and then apply it to your scars.  Leave it on for ten minutes and then rinse.
